Thank you so much Chris Nolan and Emma Thomas. Thank you for the opportunity, thank you for the respect. Thank you for the invitation to play a genuine part in making this scarily, important film. Thank you to Donna Langley and Universal Pictures for believing in us and in the film. Thank you Chuck Roven, Andy Thompson, and John Papsidera. Thank you very much. And of course, thank you SAG-AFTRA, thank you for this. Thank you for fighting for us. Thank you for every SAG-AFTRA member whose support and whose sacrifice allows us to be standing here better than we were before. When we were all last together, it was at the premiere of this film on July 14th last year when the strike was just about to begin and led by our fearless leader the great Cillian Murphy. We went from the red carpet and we didn’t see the film that night. We happily went in the direction of solidarity with your good selves so this is a full circle moment for us and to receive this recognition in a year of specular achievement from all of the people in this room, our acting friends, our acting heroes, it means the world to us. We know how lucky we are and we are grateful and we are humbled and we are proud not just to be in Mr. Nolan’s masterpiece, but proud to be in your company. Thank you so much.

My friends, fellow actors, I feel the good in what you have done, what you do. This has been a hard year for all of us, those in this room, those not in this room, I’m so proud that we’ve gotten here in solidarity with all of our other unions. It’s truly a gift that we get to do this for a living. That’s the win. It’s getting to be here. It’s getting to be on set. It’s getting to tell stories. We bring empathy into a world that so much needs it. It’s so easy to distance ourselves, it’s so easy to close off, to stop feeling, and we all bravely keep feeling and that humanizes people, that brings people out of the shadows, it brings visibility. Keep telling stories to everybody in this room, to everyone watching abroad, to those who are not actors but have a voice, have a story that needs to be heard. Thank you for all of the compassionate souls in this room and all of the storytellers here tonight. Keep speaking your truths, keep speaking up for each other.
Oh, my goodness. This is extremely, extremely special to me because it comes from you guys. Okay, my “Oppenheimer” crew. My “Oppenheimer” family, and just an FYI on that exquisite moniker, ‘Oppenhomies,’ that was actually invented by the great Olivia Thirlby. So Olivia, I think you should immediately trademark that and start merching the shit out of it because someone else will. Seriously, they were the greatest group of actors I ever had the pleasure of working with and I’ve never felt so looked after or cared by a group of actors. Everyday, I’d look at your names on the call sheet, it just made me brave, so thank you, thank you. All the actors nominated alongside me, I’m just bursting with admiration and respect for you all. Chris Nolan and Emma Thomas, as always, such a debt of gratitude to you. To my wife Yvonne and my boys Malachy and Aram, I adore you. 28 years ago, when I was trying to become an actor, I was a failed musician, I felt extremely like an interloper, but now looking out at you guys I know I am a part of something truly wonderful. Thank you so much.

To Paul Giamatti and Dominic Sessa, thank you for your generosity and honesty. Grief is a slippery emotion to capture and I thank you for creating an environment where I felt safe enough to explore the depths of Mary. How lucky are we that we get to do what we do, truly in what other profession are people able to live so many lives, and touch so many hearts of those who we've never gotten to meet. I wake up everyday overwhelmed with gratitude to be a working actor. To be awarded this by my fellow artists is the greatest honor of my career. I also want to take a moment to say that every role that I have ever played has been crafted thanks to those who are nearest and dearest to me. Some of the most brilliant actors I know whose talents have yet to be properly acknowledged by the world. For every actor out there still waiting in the wings for their chance, let me tell you your life can change in a day. It’s not a question of if, but when. Keep going, thank you.

Unlike my fellow nominees, I will never grow tired from the sound of my own voice. I'm going to do a name check. I have Chris Nolan in my ear. Now why have I added my wife’s name to this list of otherwise super talented artists that I’ve learned so much from, up close over these last 40 years? It’s because for 22 years she has flawlessly portrayed a sane and rational individual who is happily married to an actor. X and Elias, this one's for you.
Well, one last hooray, I think. Right now, you’re looking at some of the luckiest people on the planet and some of the most grateful, because not only did we get to all work on one of the best television shows, you know maybe ever, we made friends for life. I think the magic of “Succession” was that the writing was so fabulous, it inspired all of us to bring our A game from the very beginning and we got off on watching each other work and we caught lightning in a bottle. Lucky, you know? So now we are thrilled to be recognized by our peers, and so on behalf of Brian and Snooki and Jeremy who can’t be here. Thank you to our fellow actors for giving us this award. Thanks for everyone at HBO - Casey, Franny, Nora, everyone for being so smart. Thanks to Francine Maisler for casting us, for giving us this gift. Thanks to our lovely crew who could never do enough for us. Thanks to Mark Mylod, and all of our directors who guided us through all of the nuances. I don’t have any shoes on. Truly, I was not expecting this. People say that, and I really am not. I don’t really know what to say, so I'm going to wing it. Thank you, thank you SAG-AFTRA. The women in my category I watch with total awe and I learn how to do my craft watching you, so being nominated next to you is incredible. I really, really love my job. About a week ago, I had the flu, I was lying in bed, I had a memory. I was thinking about childhood and I was thinking about a happy memory and I remembered the first time I was every cast in a play, and it was in my year 5, I was 10. I think someone's parent wrote it. I think it was about kids getting along. I don’t think it was an actual play. Somebody gave me that part on the last day of school and it was a 15-minute walk home and I think I just levitated home. I was so happy. And I feel like that every time someone gives me a job. Thank you for this. It means so much to me. To my beautiful “Crown” family and so many of you are here tonight. It is a joy to work with you. This job is such a gift. It’s my mum’s birthday, happy birthday mum. Thank you so much.

I’ve been in the union since 1999 so this is an incredible fucking honor, we are on Netflix. To the nominees, all of you, I can’t remember any of your names right now. To Craig Mazin, Neil Druckmann, Franny, to Casey at HBO. It's very appropriate you’ve given me a job because I grew up watching your network. I have no other skills. I have no other interests. So the least you could do is give me a job. Franklin and Sue, you're with me here tonight. My family, you're maybe watching tonight, I don't know. I’m going to have a panic attack and I'm going to leave.

Hi, hello. This is insane. Okay, I am so grateful. I am really, really just grateful. I’m looking out at this room of people whose work moves me and motivates me and makes me feel and laugh and I’m so grateful to be here. I'm so thankful to be nominated alongside some just incredible women and profound performances. And I’m going to butcher, just really bastardize a James Baldwin quote - because I heard it the other day. The act of love is really just the act of mirroring and I think anything that anybody sees in me that is worth anything is because of the people who love me and support me and have made me who I am. And one of the biggest displays of that is “The Bear'' and the cast and crew of that show. I just wouldn’t be possible without you guys, you’re a miracle and I’m so grateful to be in your company. It’s made me a better person. I hope a better actor. Thank you so much again. This is very cool. Goodbye.
Hi, wow. Thank you so much. First, I just have to say, Ebon - you are so so excellent in everything you do, especially in the second season of "The Bear." The work you do is so incredible. I love you so so much, and the rest of my cast and my crew, I will be thanking you guys for the rest of my life. I am so honored to be in this community. I’ve wanted to be a part of this community for my whole life. I had no back up plan. I started very young and I’m so incredibly touched to be standing in front of you all today and to get this from my peers who I admire so much, thank you. Ezra and Louis, I love you. Wow, they give you a lot of time with this one, but that’s all I have.
I have to, of course, thank Sunny and Steven and Jake and the rest of the cast and crew of "Beef." I want to thank Netflix so much for all of your support throughout the years, starting with my very first stand-up special “Baby Cobra” in 2016. Thank you for always believing me and that I could do anything. Lastly, I want to thank my 83-year old mother who is here tonight. Who is here in her pearls and her Tevas because she doesn’t give a fuck. I know it was really hard when I told you I wanted to do stand-up comedy and I hope you feel it has all worked out.
