LOS ANGELES (Jan. 20, 2016) – Wines from Treasury Wine Estates' Beringer and Matua vintners will be poured at the 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® and at the Post Awards Gala hosted by People Magazine and the Entertainment Industry Foundation, SAG Awards Committee Chair JoBeth Williams announced today. This is the third year that vintages from Treasury Wine Estates wineries have been the Official Wines of the SAG Awards.
Beringer’s 2013 Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and 2014 Napa Valley Chardonnay will be served during the 22nd SAG Awards ceremony. According to the winemakers, the Cabernet is a versatile wine with subtly complex fruit notes and a silky finish. The Chardonnay is characterized by bright tropical aromas and layered refreshing fruit flavors and a clean finish.
Matua’s wines will be served during the Post-Awards Gala. For the white wine, the New Zealand vineyard is offering its 2014 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc that has a classic taste, with bright aromatic herbal notes and a vibrant palate. Its red wine is the 2014 Marlborough Pinot Noir, which is considered an excellent vintage, which features bright fruity flavors, a dash of spice and a fresh, lingering finish.
Matua began over forty years ago with a vision shared by Bill and Ross Spence – to revolutionize the New Zealand wine industry by making wines with the best fruit from the best vineyards. A philosophy that still stands today.
Matua was the first to put together, New Zealand and Sauvignon Blanc, producing the first New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc bottle in 1974. Matua is committed to being world leaders in producing not only great Sauvignon Blanc but also Pinot Noir and today it is one of New Zealand’s most awarded and internationally acclaimed wineries.
